My heart is heavy reading this article. This should never happen to anyone. I would think this story would easily be picked up by a national news organization. Someone just needs to get a connection to the one that will listen.

Best of luck to all of you. I was wondering, can you get a copy of the 1980 U.S. census and only pull up single father households? Now I understand the grandmother would be there but she would not be the wife. I was curious since there were fewer single father homes back then.

Uh…Dorothy did not have any parental rights as grandmother. Nor did she have any legal authority to pick up the child. THAT is KIDDNAPPING, and if she did it with the fathers knowledge, that is conspiracy. Why isnt this a crime?

IT IS SO SAD TO HEAR THIS STORY. I, MYSELF AM 43 YEARS OLD AND CAN NOT IMAGINE GROWING UP NOT KNOWING WHO OR WHERE MY MOTHER WAS. WHY NOT TRY TO CONTACT TROY DUNN FROM THE SHOW THE LOCATER ON W.E? TROY ONCE LIVED IN ENID AND PLAYED FOOTBALL AT CHISHOLM HIGH SCHOOL AND I’M SURE THIS CASE WOULD REALLY HIT HOME WITH HIM BECAUSE OF HIS TIES TO OKLAHOMA AND ENID. GOOD LUCK AND YOU WILL BE IN MY PRAYERS!!

I became aware of this from a posting on the Doe Network. Our family experienced a very similiar situation involving entry into NCIC. The police report on our case indicated my husband’s sister and her two small children left town of their own accord. This was obviously not the case; however, since the crime took place in 1974/1974, the police in the city were unwilling to open an NCIC. I wrote to my Senator, and the FBI and that city opened NCIC the same day. . . Our family is looking for missing children, too Check the DoeNetwork.org (not .com) for Freda Denman, Sheri Lynn Johnson and Michael Lloyd Johnson. God bless and best of luck!
